The Port Royal Racquet Club
was ranked as one of the "Top 50 Greatest U.S.
Tennis Resorts" by Tennis Magazine, been voted
as one of the "Top 75 Tennis Resorts in the
World" by Tennis Resorts Online and has received
the coveted five stars by World Tennis for its award-winning
tennis complex. Set amid pines, maples, live oaks
and the occasional magnolia; the 16-court Racquet
Club is the only tennis facility in South Carolina
showcasing all three Grand Slam surfaces - Har-tru,
grass, and hard clay.
From
its opening in 1985, Port Royal Racquet Club has
been host to the games legends and superstars,
like Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Tony Trabertand,
and Stan Smith. The Club hosts about 50 groups
a year ranging in size from as few as 4 to 80.
Guests can stay nearby at the 412-room beachfront
premier Westin Resort.
The
Club features ten clay, four hard and two grass
courts with stadium seating and lights for night
matches. Confederate jasmines and other lush tropical
vegetation set the backdrop for the full range
of quality tennis programs with certified professionals
and a friendly pro shop staff. The Pro Shop was
voted one of the "Top Five Tennis Resort
Pro Shops" by Tennis Buyers Guide.
Directions
Located
in Port Royal Plantation. From the bridge at Hwy
278, follow onto Island and follow the Hwy 278
business road. Take the main entrance to Port
Royal Plantation on your left.
